Description
Pentax SD 7x42 ED Binoculars
Premium optical features, including extra-low dispersion glass, make the Pentax SD 7x42 ED binoculars an excellent choice for general use. You'll see sharp details of distant objects with the 7x magnification power, and the 42mm objective lenses collect plenty of light for a clear image even in low light, such as at dusk, in the morning or under a deep cover. The ED glass corrects for chromatic aberration to ensure accurate colours and high contrast, and fully anti-reflective coated optics maximize light transmission throughout the entire optical path to keep images looking clear and sharp.
Complementing the optical performance is a housing built for a lifetime of rugged outdoor use. The chassis is made of grippy, comfortable to hold thermoplastic elastomer resin. The optical tubes are filled with nitrogen to prevent internal fogging due to sudden temperature changes. The optional TP-3 adapter lets you mount the binoculars on a tripod for hands-free, jarring viewing. Whether birdwatching, sightseeing, hunting, exploring the backcountry or seeing the stage at a music festival, this optic makes for a great view.
The SD ED provides a bright, clear view of the subject with minimal flare and ghosting, thanks to the application of a full multi-coating process on all lens surfaces and a special coating designed to optimize light transmission. They also feature large 42mm diameter objective lenses for a bright, clear image even in adverse lighting conditions such as twilight.
As one of the first models in the Pentax S series with optical ED (extra low dispersion) elements for effective compensation of chromatic aberration, these binoculars deliver a sharp, contrast-rich and blur-free image.
