Description
Sony FX3
The Sony FX3 has been upgraded and renamed the Sony FX3A. View the FX3A here.
The Sony FX3 takes you into the world of cinema. The camera is super compact but has everything you want as a cinematographer. 4K image quality, low-light, real-time Eye AF & touch tracking and much more.
The FX3 uses a 10.2 MP Exmor R CMOS sensor. Together with the Bionz XR processor, this technology provides the performance you are looking for. This sensor not only makes it possible to film in 4K at 120fps, but also with a minimal rolling shutter. This means you don't have any blackouts. In addition, they also ensure beautiful results in difficult lighting conditions. You have an ISO of up to 409,800 and a wide dynamic range of +15 stops to work with.
Sony's autofocus is praised for its accurate Eye Autofocus on humans and animals. With this camera, they go one step further and add touch tracking. This means that you click on a person or object on your screen and the camera will automatically ensure that your chosen subject remains in focus, even if it moves. The camera also uses the 5-axis image stabilization. You will notice that you will never have moving images again.
The most discussed and probably the most used picture profiles are the S-log3 and the S-cinetone. These picture profiles enable you to provide a high contrast in post-processing with beautiful clarity and detail. Please note that you always have to edit your images when using S-log3. On the other hand, S-Cinetone, inspired by the Venice colourmetry, uses beautiful colours and natural skin tones. You can use this immediately, without having to edit your images.
As you are used to from Sony, you can use WiFi and Bluetooth connection. This allows you to transfer your images directly to your mobile or stream. You also have the option to safely store your images on the two CF-express Type A or SD cards.
With a weight of 715 grams, you can safely say that it is not only comfortable, but also nice to add to your existing gear. The camera uses E-mount and can therefore be used with the lenses you may have already purchased for other cameras. In addition, it has everything you need as a cinematographer. A 3.5 XLR mini jack input, 2x input for microphone, one input for USB type-C and micro USB, one HDMI output.
