Thanks to an innovative optical design, this large aperture lens weighs just 280g and is only 65.6mm in diameter and 73mm long. That convenience and mobility comes with excellent image quality, making it a great choice for both stills and films. It's a full-frame lens, but it also pairs well with APS-C bodies, giving an equivalent focal length of 52.5mm, ideal for portraits and snapshots. An aspherical element has been strategically implemented in the advanced design of this lens to suppress optical aberration and achieve high resolution right up to the image edge. Smooth bokeh is available when needed, supported by a 9-blade circular mechanism that contributes to natural-looking highlights. Minimum focus distance of 22cm and maximum magnification of 0.24x also make this lens useful for close-ups. A conveniently placed focus button not only provides a simple focus hold button, but can also be assigned to various other functions from a menu accessible through the camera body.
