Sony FE 14 mm F/1.8 GM (SEL14F18GM.SYX)
The Sony FE 14 mm F/1.8 GM lens is a prime lens with Sony E mount and a fixed focal length of 14 mm. With this unique wide angle lens, you are assured of high resolution images with lifelike colours and lots of detail. The lens is suitable for nature, architecture, astro and interior photography because the lens is very light sensitive.
This Sony lens is part of Sony's well-known G Master line which stands for high resolution and enchanting bokeh, opening up a world of creative possibilities for you. Sony uses both an aspherical and two XA and ED and one Super ED glass elements with extra-low dispersion in this lens. This prevents astigmatism, field curvature, coma, spherical aberrations, chromatic aberrations and (colour) distortions. So you can really enjoy an incredible amount of detail, clarity and colour from corner to corner. The new Nano AR II coating suppresses flare and ghosting for more contrast when working in different lighting conditions. The front element is fluorine-coated and is resistant to dust, moisture and is easy to clean so that you no longer see fingerprints.
Sony uses two XD linear motors in this lens and an internal focusing mechanism ensure that you can focus faster, quieter and more accurately. There is a Focus lock button on the lens that provides quick access to selected programmable settings. In addition, the physical aperture ring can be clicked loose for smooth, quiet aperture switching for video applications. The circular aperture with nine blades provides that typical enchanting bokeh that you would expect from a G Master lens.
The 14 mm lens is made so that dust and moisture cannot penetrate. In addition, the rubber operating rings have been improved so that you can use the lens in the most severe weather conditions. Thus, it meets the requirements of a seasoned photographer.
The Sony FE 14 mm F/1.8 GM is 8.57 x 10.16 cm and weighs only 462 grams. A compact and light lens that you like to take with you in your bag as a travelling photographer.
