The SmallRig 5258 "Night Eagle" Cage for Nikon Z5II / Z7 / Z6 / Z7II / Z6II / Z5 is designed to provide comprehensive Camera Protection while offering versatile expansion options. The curved structure, decorated with gold accents, the classic red Nikon logo and vintage leather, gives the cage a distinctive professional look. The cage features a three-point locking system with a lower 1/4"-20 screw and M2.5 screws on both sides to secure the Camera and prevent deflection, while built-in pads protect the camera from scratches. Importantly, the cage does not interfere with the Camera's buttons, ports, tilt screen or battery compartment.

The holder is equipped with a removable coldshoe attachment with an anti-twist positioning pin. This can be attached to the 1/4"-20 mounting holes on both the sides and top of the cage, allowing optional accessories such as microphones (SmallRig ID 3487) and video lights (SmallRig ID 4660) to be mounted. The cage also features 1/4"-20 screw holes, 1/4"-20 mounting holes, 3/8"-16 screw holes and ARRI 3/8"-16 mounting holes for attaching various accessories. These include Handles on the side (SmallRig ID 4015) and top (SmallRig ID 3765) for smooth camera movement, as well as monitor mounts (SmallRig ID 2903B), Tripods (SmallRig ID 3989), power bank holders (SmallRig ID BUB2336), mini V-mount battery plates (SmallRig ID 2987) and more. The side features a 1/4"-20 mounting hole for mounting single bar clamps (SmallRig ID 3598), mag arms (SmallRig ID 3873) and side handles (SmallRig ID 4346).

The left side of the cage features a HawkLock quick-release NATO rail, to which side handles (SmallRig ID 4485, 4840) can be attached for quick mounting and dismounting of Accessories. The cage also features a coldshoe attachment for microphones and lights, a belt slot for wrist straps (SmallRig ID 3848) and a QD connector for shoulder straps (SmallRig ID 4118B). The cage also features shoulder strap slots designed to carry the Camera with the lens down to prevent damage.

The bottom features an Arca-Swiss quick-release plate for direct mounting on Arca-type tripods (SmallRig ID 4060) and DJI RS 2 / RSC 2 / RS 3 / RS 3 Pro / RS 4 / RS 4 Pro / RS 4 Mini gimbals, allowing quick transitions. between stabiliser, handheld and tripod setups. For power solutions, it can be combined with V-mount battery plates (SmallRig ID 4505) and V-mount batteries (SmallRig ID 4608) for longer shooting times. The built-in double spanner on the bottom facilitates mounting and dismounting.
