The Sigma 16-28mm F/2.8 DG DN Contemporary (L-mount) is a bright wide-angle zoom lens with exceptionally high optical quality. The lens is ideally suited for landscape, wedding and travel photographers who are looking for compact and lightweight equipment but don't want to compromise on image quality.

Enjoy sharpness from corner to corner thanks to internal distortion correction and minimal aberrations due to 5 FLD elements 4 aspherical lens elements. The constant f/2.8 aperture and 9 rounded aperture blades result in a subtle depth of field with soft circular bokeh. The design features three aspherical, two FLD and two SLD lens elements. These thoroughly correct axial chromatic aberration and sagittal coma aberration for uniform sharpness from centre to corners. In addition, the Super Multi-Layer and Nanon Porous Coating ensure perfect control of flares and high-contrast images in backlight. Finally, the front lens has a water- and oil-repellent coating, making it easy to keep clean.

The 28-70mm weighs just 470g, making it great for taking anywhere. A lightweight focusing element has been used which keeps the autofocus unit compact. Combined with the extremely quiet and fast stepping motor, this results in responsive and almost silent autofocus performance. Following the design concept of the Contemporary line, the lens features dust- and splashproof construction at the mount and smaller switches. High-quality materials and techniques ensure that all components work well and continue to work well even under extreme temperature fluctuations.

The filter has multiple coatings to combat ghosting. An anti-static coating ensures that the filter does not become statically charged. This way, dust is not attracted. The WR (Water Repellent) coating also ensures that both water and oil are easily removed from the filter.
