Description
Sigma 12mm f/1.4 DC Contemporary - Canon RF
The Sigma 12mm F1.4 DC Contemporary Canon RF is a groundbreaking ultra-wide-angle prime lens that opens up new creative possibilities. With a viewing angle of nearly 100° (equivalent to approx. 18mm full-frame) and a bright F1.4 aperture, you can effortlessly capture entire scenes, impressive starry skies or atmospheric street scenes, even in low light.
The optical design consists of 14 elements in 12 groups, including 3 double-sided aspherical and 2 SLD elements, which ensure razor-sharp images from edge to edge. Sagittal coma is accurately suppressed, ensuring that star points and light sources are rendered bright and clear.
Despite this high performance, the lens remains compact and lightweight: only 69.4 mm long and 225 grams. This makes it ideal for travel, street photography and use with gimbals or grips.
The stepping motor delivers fast, quiet autofocus, perfect for both photography and videography. Thanks to minimal focus breathing, focus pulls remain natural and smooth, ideal for filmmakers. The intuitive aperture ring (or adjustable control ring on Canon RF) offers additional control.
Sigma's high-quality coatings reduce flare and ghosting, while the dust- and splash-proof construction and water- and oil-repellent front coating make the lens reliable in challenging conditions. With the addition of this 12mm, Sigma further strengthens its complete line of fast F1.4 prime lenses for APS-C, including the 16mm, 23mm, 30mm and 56mm.
