Shimoda Core Unit Mirrorless XS25

The Shimoda Core Unit Mirrorless XS25 is designed specifically for Shimoda's narrower 25-litre backpacks. Together with the S25 and L25, the XS25 provides modular carrying options for users of Shimoda's 25L backpacks. Placed vertically, the XS25 connects to the side inlet of all Shimoda 25L backpacks. Placed horizontally, the XS25 is the same width as Shimoda's 30L backpacks.

The XS25 lets you carry a wide range of focal lengths and is perfect for most "trinity" 2.8 lens sets. The side entry allows you to set up your kit so that you can quickly and easily access a mounted body and lens without having to put your backpack down. This is especially useful in challenging and uneven terrain, or in wet environments where you need to keep your backpack on your body.

Shimoda calls them Core Units, simply because they form the core of the Shimoda system. Their modular versatility allows users to customise their carrying needs with camera inserts of different sizes for different days, getting more out of their backpack.

• Suitable for mirrorless/DSLR cameras: Shimoda mirrorless Core Units are suitable for mirrorless and DSLR cameras without a grip up to 12 cm high. The reduced depth allows for a lower fit with your backpack.
• Quick side access to camera: The XS25 Core Unit integrates seamlessly with the side access in all 25-litre Shimoda backpacks, and the reduced height allows storage of more non-photo gear, such as layers of clothing, food and survival gear.
• Small: The Core Units in the ML-25 series are specially designed for the Action X25, Explore 25 and Urban Explore 25, and both the backpack and Core Unit are narrower than the larger Shimoda backpacks of 30 litres and larger. Using a narrower 25-litre backpack creates a more agile backpack for more action and intense adventures and a better fit for users with narrower and smaller torsos.
• Lightweight, waterproof and multi-functional pouch - The main function of the included pouch is to store the padded Core Units, ideal when you have your gear at home and are not using it. It keeps the Core Unit sealed and dust-free. The second function is to use as storage. You can fill the case with clothes or other items and carry it in your backpack or hand luggage.
• Protective EVA case and dividers - The walls and dividers are made of EVA, which provides much better protection than the cheaper PE foam used in most camera bags. With EVA, there is more control over the density and quality of the materials used to protect your gear. This also means that the walls can be thinner and take up less internal volume, while still offering superior protection.
