Portkeys HD7H
The Portkeys HD7H is Portkeys' most affordable 7-inch on-camera monitor. This HDMI-only monitor can handle video signals up to 4K30p, is viewable in daylight with a maximum brightness of 1,000 cd/m2 and can easily be powered for hours by a single Sony NP-F battery (sold separately) or externally via the power input. Whether you are just starting out in filming or looking for a budget-friendly second monitor, the Portkeys HD7H has everything you need for professional monitoring.
The Portkeys HD7H is a 7-inch entry-level monitor designed for enthusiastic filmmakers and content creators on a limited budget or simply as a second budget-friendly monitor solution. Made of ABS and PC, this lightweight monitor weighs just 278 grams. Measuring just 178 x 104 x 25.8 mm, this compact monitor doesn't add much volume to your camera equipment.
The HD7H has a 7-inch display with a maximum brightness of 1,000 cd/m2, making it an excellent monitor solution whether you are shooting indoors or in bright daylight. It also has a huge viewing angle of 178° thanks to a matte screen with anti-reflection coating. The panel's resolution is 1280 x 720, it covers 75% of the Rec.709 colour space and has a contrast ratio of 1000:1.
At the bottom of the Portkeys HD7H you will find all ports, including a full-size HDMI video input port that can handle video signals up to DCI 4K at 24p, UHD 4K at 30p or 1080p at up to 60p. Next to the HDMI input is an AV input port that doubles as a 3.5mm audio input. You'll also find a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB Type-A port for future firmware upgrades and a DC 7-24V power input with a 5.5mm barrel connector, allowing you to power the monitor externally.
On the back of the HD7H, you'll find a built-in Sony NP-F-type battery plate. With a low power consumption of just 10 W, a single Sony NP-F750 battery can power the monitor for up to 10 hours at full brightness, making it easy to get through an entire day of shooting.
Image is important when viewing your footage, but sound is also crucial. That's why Portkeys has added a built-in speaker to the back of the Portkeys HD7H, so you can watch your recordings properly.
At the top of the monitor, you'll find two user-assignable buttons to quickly turn your favourite monitoring tools on and off. The on/off switch, battery eject, menu and navigation buttons are also located at the top of the monitor, putting all the Portkeys HD7H's controls within easy reach.
Flexibility is essential on the set, so Portkeys has implemented three 1/4"-20 mounting points on the bottom, left and right sides of the HD7H. You will never have trouble mounting the monitor anywhere you want on camera, camera rig, tripod, gimbal, table stand, etc. The Portkeys HD7H is ready to use straight out of the box, just connect it to the camera and you are ready to shoot. The monitor comes with a lens hood, a pair of rubber side covers to protect the monitor, a monitor mount, full-size HDMI and full-size to micro-HDMI cables and one AV cable.
