The camera features real-time recognition autofocus with PDAF (Phase Detection Auto-Focus), allowing you to track subjects such as people, animals and vehicles easily and accurately. It also includes built-in 5-axis Dual I.S.2 image stabilisation, offering up to 6.5 stops. The I.S. image stabilisation itself delivers 5 stops of stabilisation. Edit and share with ease

The Panasonic Lumix S9 works seamlessly with your smartphone. On your smartphone, you can create your own so-called 'signature presets'. These signature presets are custom colour styles you create in advance. By transferring them to the S9, you can immediately apply them to the photos and videos you capture. This saves time during post-processing. Besides creating your own presets, you can also choose to download presets via the LUMIX Lab app. Your recordings can be transferred quickly and easily to your smartphone thanks to improved connection speed and stability. A new recording format is used for this: MP4 Lite. This is an Open Gate video mode optimised for smartphones. Within 30 seconds, your photo or video is online exactly the way you want it.

Expand your reach with crop and hybrid zoom

You can extend the zoom range of the Panasonic S9 while maintaining image quality. This is possible using the crop zoom function and the hybrid zoom function. The crop zoom function uses the centre of the camera sensor to extend the normal zoom range. The hybrid zoom function uses both optical and crop zoom to increase the focal length even further.

The Panasonic LUMIX S 18mm F/1.8 is an ultra wide-angle lens with a viewing angle of 100°. Thanks to this wide viewing angle, the lens is suitable for various applications such as landscape, astro and architectural photography. In addition, the minimum focusing distance of 0.18 metres provides more possibilities for close-up shooting. The lens construction consists of 13 lens elements in 12 groups, including three aspherical lenses, three ED (Extra-Low Dispersion) lenses, one UED (Ultra Extra-Low Dispersion) lens and one UHR (Ultra High Refractive Index) lens. The three aspherical lenses deliver superior image performance, while the three ED lenses suppress chromatic aberration. In addition, the large F/1.8 aperture with nine diaphragm blades creates beautiful bokeh effects. The lens operates smoothly and quietly with the camera's fast AF system, because the digital signal between the camera and the lens is exchanged at up to 240 fps. During manual focusing, the focus point shifts by a variable amount in non-linear mode depending on the speed at which the focus ring is turned. In linear mode, the focus point shifts by a fixed amount depending on how far the focus ring is rotated. When recording videos, a mechanism inside the lens suppresses 'focus-breathing'. Combined with micro-step aperture control, which allows smooth exposure adjustments, this mechanism enables professional-quality video recordings. Thanks to its compact design and low weight of 340 grams, the LUMIX S 18mm F/1.8 is easy to carry with you. In addition, the robust dust- and splash-resistant design withstands harsh conditions down to -10 degrees Celsius.
