Description
Panasonic Lumix DC-S5 II + SIGMA 24-70mm F2.8 DG DN II Art L-mount
This bundle consists of the Panasonic LUMIX DC-S5 II system camera and the SIGMA 24-70mm F/2.8 DG DN II Art L-Mount lens.
Panasonic Lumix DC-S5 II Body
The Panasonic Lumix DC-S5 II is an addition to the popular LUMIX S series. The system camera has incredible photo and video performance in an attractive, compact design. The S5 II has a 24-megapixel 35mm full-frame CMOS sensor that lets in plenty of light and provides razor-sharp images. The sensor combined with the advanced image processor ensures excellent image quality for both still and video shooting.
The updated image sensor supports, for the first time in the LUMIX line, hybrid phase-detection autofocus. The hybrid autofocus system combines phase detection with contrast detection for fast and reliable focusing. The new system can easily recognise subjects even in challenging conditions such as when there is low light. Once the focus is fixed, it continues to track the subject across the screen. Continuous autofocus is also available when zooming in, as well as AF micro adjustments.
The LUMIX S5 II has significantly improved image stabilisation so you can take stable, strong shots even when out of hand. Active image stabilisation comes in very handy in challenging conditions such as when using a telephoto lens or when filming while walking. Active image stabilisation also ensures highly stable videos by optimising horizontal, vertical and rotation correction.
The system camera has exceptional video performance similar to the LUMIX S1H. For instance, you film in 4:2:0 10-bit 6K (3:2) and 5.9K (16:9) in 30fps and 4:2:2 C4K/4K in 60fps. You easily record in High Frame Rate at up to 120fps and in slow motion at up to 180fps. You can use different colour profiles such as 14+ stop V-log and V-Gamut. Support for a REAL TIME LUT function ensures that you can upload colour correction LUTs to an SD card and add them directly on camera instead of during post-processing. For professional videographers, features like Waveform Monitor, Vector Scope and Zebra Pattern have been added. Features like System Frequency (24.00Hz) and Synchro Scan also make this camera suitable for professional use.
The camera has several options that give you excellent photos with minimal workflow. Features like AWB lock, MF assist and a new Live Crop function provide a highly refined shooting experience. An HDMI type-A and USB 3.2 gen 2 jack provide extensive connectivity options. Thanks to WiFi 5GHz, you can also connect wirelessly to smartphones and tablets quickly and stably. Dual UHS-II memory card slots ensure you always have plenty of space.
SIGMA 24-70mm F2.8 DG DN II Art L-mount
The SIGMA 24-70mm F/2.8 DG DN II Art is a true classic in a completely new look. As the lens features both a wide-angle and short telephoto zoom range, this lens is ideal for capturing landscapes, portraits and your travels. The constant aperture of F/2.8 ensures that you can also use the lens in dark conditions without any problems. This means you can also use it to shoot reportage or events. It is a true all-rounder!
The SIGMA 24-70mm F/2.8 DG DN II is extremely compact and fast, giving the lens outstanding optical performance. The 24-70mm F/2.8 boasts a wide range of updated features and advanced technologies to help you get the most out of your photography. For example, the High-responsive Linear Actuator (HLA) makes the lens three times faster at focusing compared to its predecessor. Of course, the autofocus is not only fast, but also extremely precise and quiet. This also allows you to use the lens for videography with minimal focus breathing.
With the addition of an aperture ring and two AFL buttons, functionality has been vastly improved. You can assign functions to the AFL buttons yourself, allowing you to adjust the lens to your own needs. A conscious decision was made to place an AFL button at the top, so you can easily operate it in portrait mode. The lens is also perfect for shooting close-ups. With a minimum focusing distance of just 17 centimetres and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:2.7, you can bring even the smallest details into focus big time.
A true flagship among lenses, the SIGMA 24-70mm lives up to its name through its optical performance. Finished with both a nano and super multilayer coating, the lens consists of 6 FLD, 2 SLD and 5 aspherical glass elements. This effectively reduces various aberrations, ghosting, lens flare and sagittal comaflare. This ensures high-contrast images free of colour casts in all conceivable light situations, including extreme backlighting.
Its compact size and robust construction mean you can take the lens anywhere. At just 745g, for instance, the lens weighs a whopping 10% less than its predecessor. The body is mainly made of plastic and boasts excellent build quality. In addition, the lens is dust- and splashproof, so you can continue to fully rely on the SIGMA 24-70mm F/2.8 DG DN II even during rough (weather) conditions.
