The Panasonic Lumix DC-GH5s Body is designed and developed for professional filmmakers. The camera produces images with the highest sensitivity and video image quality ever in the history of the LUMIX cameras, especially in low-light conditions. The Lumix GH5S ensures innovative internal 4:2:2 10-bit 4K video recordings. For example, 10-bit will display all subtleties of graduated skies and sunsets without banding as with 8-bit. The power of having film production capabilities inside the camera creates a new precedent in the area of guerrilla-style film production. You can record in 4:2:2 10-bit on your SD card while simultaneously feeding the live signal to a full-size HDMI port connected to an external monitor or recorder. 4:2:2 10-bit shots make it possible to obtain natural and truthful images with more than a billion colors and quadruple 8-bit. A breathtaking 400Mbps (ALL-Intra) high bit rate recording mode is also available.

V-log L recordings for even more accurate color gradations

In order to meet the demand of film producers, log video recordings (V-Log L) have been made available on the DC-GH5S. This provides exceptional flexibility and a larger dynamic range for color gradations during the post-production process.

Hybrid Log Gamma for 4K HDR Video

HDR (High Dynamic Range) is a mode for reproducing both bright and dark areas of the image. This brings the image closer to the image you see with the naked eye.

Multiple aspect ratios - Exclusively for LUMIX GH5S!

The LUMIX GH5S sensor supports multiple aspect ratios, especially 4:3, 17:9, 16:9 and 3:2. Thanks to large effective pixel margins, the focal length does not change with these aspect ratios. This feature, which is available for photography, for 4K and C4K video and in Anamorphic mode, allows you to fully utilize the angle of view of the lens for a truly stunning image display!

In addition, high reading speeds are achieved even when a larger sensor is used. Compared to the LUMIX GH5, rolling shutter distortion at high read speeds is reduced by a factor of about 1.3 when you record videos or use an electronic shutter.

Max. 10x Slow Motion Video - VFR (Variable Frame Rate)

In order to even further improve the video display, the LUMIX GH5S is equipped with various effects. Thanks to the VFR you can record videos at higher/lower speeds in C4K/4K (60 fps max. 2.5x slower) or in FHD (240 fps max. 10x slower) quality. The minimum frame rate for video with fast moving effects is 2 fps.

4:2:2 10-bit HDMI Live Output and Simultaneous Internal Recording

The LUMIX GH5S can realize 4:2:2 10-bit real-time image output to an external monitor or recorder via an optional HDMI cable (full-size Type A), while simultaneously an internal 4:2:2 10- bit recording is provided. It is suitable for professional filming that requires accurate monitoring of the image or high-quality recording to external codec devices (such as ProRes).

A cable holder for the HDMI cable is bundled with the LUMIX GH5S to avoid disconnecting on location.

TC IN/OUT Connection

The time code can be synchronized with an external device by using the bundled BNC conversion cable. This makes it easier to edit movie material recorded with multiple cameras in a nonlinear timeline.

LINE input supported

LINE input is supported via a 3.5 mm microphone connection. This makes it possible to feed sounds from an external audio device for more efficient video production.
