Nikon Z f

With the Nikon Z f, you get a full-frame system camera in a classic body, but with a wide range of modern technologies. Although the camera's appearance refers to analogue photography, this camera offers you every convenience. The Nikon ZF is the successor to the Nikon Z FC, but as a full-frame camera. It also features a number of new functions, such as Pixel Shift and a button to switch between colour and monochrome photos. The camera also has a maximum ISO value of no less than 64000. This camera therefore works perfectly in low-light situations.

Fully manual operation

What immediately stands out about the Nikon Z f is the camera's fully manual operation. Three dials on the top allow you to easily set your aperture, shutter speed and ISO. In addition, the camera has a small display on the top where you can read the selected aperture and other settings. Of course, it is also possible to set the camera via the menu on the 3.2" flip screen if you prefer. Another unique feature of this camera is the button that allows you to take black-and-white photos in an instant. This allows you to easily mimic the effect of analogue photos with no fewer than three different settings.

By using a 24.5-megapixel CMOS sensor, you can expect images with beautiful resolution. In addition to JPEG and RAW, it is also possible to take photos in HEIF format. A big advantage of this file format is the 10-bit support, which allows the images to show even more detail, but in a more compact file format. It is also possible to select the “Flicker reduction” function in continuous high-speed mode, which prevents annoying light flickering.

Fast and accurate autofocus

With the Z f, capturing action is a piece of cake. You can shoot up to 14fps in RAW and up to 30fps in JPEG thanks to the High Speed function. With these impressive burst capabilities, you'll never miss a moment again.

The intelligent autofocus supports the detection of people, animals and vehicles. In addition, the camera has an extremely fast autofocus thanks to the Expeed 7 processor and no fewer than 299 focus points, allowing you to capture your subject quickly, sharply and precisely. With these different autofocus modes and speeds, there is always a method that perfectly suits your photography style. The autofocus area of the ZF has also been enlarged and now covers 89% vertically and 96% horizontally of the image. This allows you to focus on your subject and determine the perfect composition at the same time.

Professional videos

If your interests lie in videography, the Nikon Z f is also a great camera for you. It allows you to shoot continuously for 125 minutes in both 4K and Full HD. The Z f also supports Blackmagic RAW and Ninja RAW video output, giving you ultimate control over your images while keeping the file size compact. Sound is recorded in 24-bit 48kHz, giving you a better dynamic range and minimal excessive noise.

Ease of use

With a 3.2" LCD flip screen, you can always see what you're doing, even while vlogging. Thanks to built-in WiFi and Bluetooth, you can easily connect the Z f to external devices to view or edit your photos or videos. The magnesium body makes the camera dust and weather resistant, so you can even take it outside in the rain. The camera does not feature the familiar Nikon grip, to better match the retro look, but you can always add one later.
