Description
The Leica Macro-Elmar M 90mm is a powerful telephoto lens. It's medium focal length is particularly suited for portraits in which the persons must be photogenically clearly silhouetted against the background. In travel photography, it is an indispensable aid for detail views, for example, in landscape shots. In reportage photography, you can use it to discreetly shoot pictures from a slightly greater distance.
As a retractable structure, with only 41mm length in the retracted position, it is a pronounced compact alternative to the other 90mm Leica M lenses. This is mainly because the supplied lens hood, for storage, can also be arranged the other way around.
The picture quality across the entire image field is very well and can be compared with the quality of the already legendary Leica APO-Macro-Elmarit-R (100/2.8). The lens already provides its optimal performance at aperture 4, that is to say, that the maximum aperture can be used indefinitely as "use aperture" (when stopping down in fact only the depth of field is increased). The high image quality remains, even close, retained as much as possible.
