LaCie 2big RAID 16 TB USB-C is a RAID array with two interchangeable slots with hard drive. Each slot contains a Seagate IronWolf Pro 8TB 7200rpm hard drive, which is known for high performance and durability. Ideal for when you want to store a lot of important data safely. The drives are pre-configured in HFS+ for Mac systems. For maximum performance up to a speed of 420MB/s, the drives are configured in RAID 0. This way, both drives are seen as one, for full storage capacity utilisation. Prefer to use the second drive as a backup? Simply change the configuration to RAID 1. Plus, a JBOD configuration is also possible if you want both drives to be used separately from each other.
The 2big RAID includes a USB-C 3.1 port for connecting to your computer. For security, the RAID is compatible with Kensington locks, which allow you to secure it to your workstation. To prevent overheating, the system uses a large built-in fan. The aluminium housing ensures the system is passively cooled. The combination of both cooling systems makes the hard drive barely audible as you work.
The LaCie 2big includes Intego Backup Manager Pro software for Mac and Genie Backup Manager Pro for PC. You can use this software for backups and data synchronisation. Plus, it has the option to create bootable backups of a MacOs boot volume. With the LaCie RAID Manager software, take advantage of system monitoring and receive email alerts for extreme temperatures and extraordinary RAID events. What if the drives fail after all?
