The Kase K100x100 Bright Star precision focusing tool is a focusing filter, for focusing in the dark. Focusing is probably the most difficult problem in star and night photography.
Set your camera and lens to manual mode, find the light source and zoom in for a closer look. Place the precision focus tool in the holder, you will see a diffraction pattern with 3 spikes, if you only see 2 spikes, adjust the precision focus tool slightly, sliding up or down, so that you create a pattern with 3 spikes. Make sure the focus is perfect, then remove the precision focus tool and start shooting.
