Description
Hoya 82mm UV-IR
The Hoya 82mm UV-IR filter is a lens filter that, when attached to the lens, allows only the visible spectrum of light rays to enter the camera and be captured by the sensor. It blocks both higher-frequency ultraviolet rays and lower-frequency infrared rays. This is important for digital photographers because the CCD and CMOS sensors in our cameras are extremely sensitive to capturing UV and IR rays just outside the visible spectrum, which have a very negative impact on image quality.
The filter offers even greater versatility than is already found in a combined UV-IR filter because of the front and back threads. They allow you to attach standard-sized stackable filters, giving you even more filter effect options, while also providing space for a standard lens cap.
Another advantage of using the UV-IR filter is that it can also reduce the effects of atmospheric haze to a greater extent than would be the case with a standard UV filter. This means sharper images with more depth and finer, richer colour gradations are possible when using the filter effects in your photography. This combination filter is a very useful option for those looking for brighter and sharper images when shooting outdoors, while enjoying the benefits of two filters in one.
