Description
Hasselblad XCD 3.4/75P
The Hasselblad XCD 3.4/75P is a standard lens with a 59mm equivalent focal length, combining powerful performance with a lightweight and manoeuvrable design. In portrait and street photography, it not only enhances the appeal of your work with its exceptional optical quality, but also adds a unique touch of lightness to your shooting experience through its multiple ingenious lightweight design elements.
The XCD 3.4/75P uses an optical structure of ten elements in ten groups, including one aspherical element and three ED elements, effectively suppressing chromatic dispersion. This advanced design results in a compact form and delivers powerful optical performance that meets the resolution requirements of a 100-megapixel sensor. Whether at the centre or the edges of the frame, it delivers sharp, clear images and vivid, lifelike colours.
Compared to the XCD 4/28P and XCD 4/45P lenses in the same series, the maximum aperture of the XCD 3.4/75P has also been expanded from f/4 to f/3.4. This allows for more detail in low-light portraits and produces a more attractive bokeh.
The XCD 3.4/75P is the longest focal length and largest aperture medium format lens in the XCD P series to date (November 2024). With an equivalent focal length of 59 mm, it sits between standard and mid-telephoto lenses, combining the advantages of both. It is suitable for full- and half-length portraits, street photography and still photography.
The longer focal length combined with the maximum aperture of f/3.4 creates a soft, natural bokeh, creating pleasing portrait photos. Its performance rivals that of the XCD 2.8/65, a lens known for its large aperture.
The XCD 3.4/75P continues the new generation design language of the XCD P-series lenses. The streamlined metal body is accentuated by a distinctive "H" pattern around the focus ring, highlighting Hasselblad's signature style.
Weighing just 398g and only 71mm long, it is 45% lighter and 24% shorter than the XCD 2.8/65, making it an ??ideal choice for portrait and street photography.
The XCD 3.4/75P uses a linear stepper motor and a lighter, smaller focus lens group, meaning the focus lens group can quickly reach the focus position and make a precise stop, resulting in a more responsive focus. The XCD 3.4/75P uses a linear stepper motor and a lighter, smaller focus lens group. The linear stepper motor provides more precise control of the focus lens group, improving focus accuracy, while the lighter, smaller focus lens group enables faster focusing. When combined with X System or V System medium format digital cameras that support PDAF (Phase Detection Autofocus), you will appreciate the fast, quiet, accurate and flexible focusing experience. The XCD 3.4/75P features a compact leaf shutter module that operates with minimal vibration and noise. This allows you to shoot confidently in quiet environments.
In addition, the leaf shutter offers speeds of up to 1/2000 second, making it easy to capture fast-moving subjects. It also supports flash synchronisation at all speeds, so you can use the flash to darken the background and emphasise the subject, even in bright sunlight. This is how you achieve exceptional results.
