What is a filter kit?
A filter kit represents a collection of filters brought together in a package. Some kits are specifically aimed at using a particular type of photography, while others contain filters that are suitable for different purposes. Kits are also available that have been compiled by well-known photographers such as Ken Kaminesky, Joel Tjintjelaar or Elia Locardi..
Advantages of different filters
A big advantage of a filter kit is that you immediately have different filters in a package. This can be specific to a particular type of photography or to the width that the world of photography has to offer. Common filters in a kit include the polarisation filter, ND filter, UV filter and colour filter. An additional advantage is that kits are cheaper when purchased together than if each filter is purchased separately. So check in advance which filters you want to purchase and whether they can be found as a combination in a kit. On our filter pages, you can find more information about the operation and functionalities of each type of filter.
Specific kits
In addition to the kits with a collection of separate filters for different applications, there are also kits available that are specifically aimed at a certain type of photography. In addition to a number of standard filters, these kits also contain ND and GND filters with different stops, suitable for use at longer shutter speeds. These kits are available for a few tenners up to professional filter packages.
