The lens is perfect for handheld macrophotography. The hybrid Image Stabiliser compensates for up to 5 stops, or even 8 in combination with a camera with in-body image stabilisation. Thanks to the 1.4x magnification, you can get closer than ever. With a 9-blade iris and a maximum aperture of f/2.8, you have plenty of creative options at your disposal for great photos, even in low light. Dual Nano USM motors provide fast and silent focusing for both photography and filming. The lens design also suppresses focus breathing.
The lens has a weather seal and a fluorine coating on the outer lens element to keep water and dust out.
