The Canon EOS 1DX mark III is an SLR camera designed for speed, sensitivity and precision. This powerful professional camera ensures the best performance when shooting sports events, wildlife and other dynamic activities. This flagship EOS system is characterised by its refined processing capabilities and distinctive speed for both photo and video applications. With a newly designed 20.1MP full frame CMOS sensor and updated DIGIC X image processor, this camera can achieve continuous shooting rates of up to 16 fps with the optical viewfinder. In LiveView mode, this is even 20 fps! To top it off, this camera offers a buffer of 1000 images when shooting RAW + JPEG. So it's virtually impossible to miss your shot! 

Complementing the speed, the EOS 1DX mark III offers an impressive sensitivity range of ISO 100-102400 (extendable to ISO 50-819200). This offers the possibility to work in different lighting conditions.Speed also benefits from the EOS iTR AF X autofocus system, which uses 191 points to achieve focus quickly and accurately. It also enables Face Tracking and Head Detection AF functions, which use Deep Learning technology to maintain critical focus on moving subjects. In addition, when working in LiveView mode, Dual Pixel CMOS AF uses 3869 manually selectable points and provides smooth, natural focusing quality similar to the way a camcorder obtains focus.

In addition to shooting high-performance stills, the 1DX mark III is excellent for video. This is thanks to the ability to record in internal DCI 4K 60fps 10-bit with 4:2:2 colours, Full HD 120fps and RAW 5.5K 60fps. Coupled with complementary shooting modes, this SLR offers a great experience with video such as Movie Digital IS, manual focus peaking and Focus Guide, and Canon Log Gamma can also be used for better colour correction in the post.The camera offers both ALL-I and IPB compression and supports H.264/MPEG-4 AVC High Profile.

Complementing the imaging capabilities is one of the key features of 1D series cameras: a durable and robust body design. This camera uses a magnesium alloy that is weather-resistant to protect against dust and moisture for working in harsh environments in particular. The casing also features dual CFexpress memory card slots to support fast, continuous shooting speeds and high-resolution video features. The optical pentaprism viewfinder has the benefit of an updated mirror drive mechanism for reduced blackout. In addition, the 3.2-inch 2.1-inch touchscreen LCD provides intuitive display and menu navigation. In addition, built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS provide seamless wireless connectivity, and a built-in Ethernet port provides faster wired LAN file transfers. The new E-TTL II flash metering also benefits from the improvements of this system.

Software update 26 March 2021:

• To enable lower bit rate recording, [RAW (Light)] has been added to the movie recording format and [IPB (Light)] to 4K. These can also be selected when RAW+MP4 is set
• The transfer time (estimated value) is now displayed on the camera screen during the FTP transfer.
