The Canon CR-X500 is the ideal camera if you are looking for a remotely controlled camera that you can operate with minimal crew, for outdoor work. The camera has 15x optical zoom and fits perfectly into your documentary session, livestream production, reality show, event or digital film production.
The camera is specially designed for outdoor use and has an IP55 waterproof protection, which prevents dust, water, dirt or salt from damaging the camera lens and electronics. The CR-X500 contains many components that you also find in high-resolution Canon cameras and camcorders, such as the Canon DIGIC DV6 image processor, a 1-inch Dual Pixel CMOS sensor, a minimum brightness of 3 lux, 15x optical zoom and 30x digital zoom, a wide dynamic range and video output up to UHD 4K via a 12G-SDI connector. In addition, the Canon CR-X500 has other professional features and offers genlock support, HLG and Canon Log 3 support, as well as built-in ND filters with clear 1/4. 1/16 and 1/64 options.
The camera makes smooth and precise pan movements with a speed range of 0.5 to 25 degrees per second and tilt movements with a speed range of 0.3 to 20 degrees per second. The camera also has a very low ambient noise rating of NC-55 at less than 10 degrees per second. You can easily control the camera with an external controller such as the RS-422 or Canon's own NU serial protocol using the optionally available RC-IP100 PTZ controller. The built-in lens wiper ensures that you do not have to wipe the lens clean yourself if it gets wet or dirty. The camera also has an AUX port, so you can add an optional washing unit.
