With its ultra-compact size, the Blackmagic Videohub Mini 4x2 12G is the ultimate device for flexibility in live productions. The mini router features four 12G-SDI inputs, four 12G-SDI loop outputs and two 12G-SDI outputs on the rear panel, with a size that is only a third of the width of a rack. The I/O ports can be controlled by front-panel push buttons, a rotary knob or via an Ethernet connection to automate functions. The router's front panel also features a 12G-SDI input and a USB-C output that override the functions of the ports on the rear panel, for when you need to quickly route new resources. The USB-C output registers on your device as a webcam and allows you to live stream directly from your Computer. The router's outputs feature Clean Switch functionality, allowing you to route a specific source to ééone output and switch that same source as a direct feed to other outputs.

The Videohub Mini Router is designed to add extra inputs to SDI broadcast equipment without taking up much rack space. You can add extra inputs to ATEM switches or add input selection to streaming encoders and HyperDeck recorders. You can also use it to add extra inputs to video monitors! Routers are great because you can change connections without having to patch cables halfway through a job. If you have an urgent customer need or emergency, you can connect equipment to the SDI jacks on the front panel. That means you can deal with unexpected situations without having to rewire your rack.

The front panel design of the Blackmagic Videohub Mini is designed for quick cut-bus switching with dedicated buttons for outputs and inputs. To route a video link, simply select the destination button and then press the source button! That provides all the routing control you need, even though the routers are designed to fit into small, portable racks. The front panel also has 12G-SDI video jacks for connecting external equipment. The input on the front panel overrides the highest resolution input when Video is connected. The front panel also has a USB webcam output, so you can connect a Computer for recording, Video cameras or streaming software.

All models of the Blackmagic Videohub Mini feature advanced 12G-SDI connections. These are multirate and support all SD, HD and UHD video formats up to 2160p60. This means you can connect all SD, HD-SDI, 3G-SDI, 6G-SDI and 12G-SDI equipment. Moreover, the Videohub Mini also supports simultaneous routing of all video standards on the same router. The 12G-SDI offers you high-frame-rate UHD via ééone BNC connection that also works with all your regular HD equipment. This allows you to switch seamlessly between different Video inputs and automatically changes the SDI output standard.
All models of the Blackmagic Video Hub Mini feature a "clean switch" function that ensures stable video transitions when switching between sources. However, the clean switch function is unique in that it is set on each output, not on the inputs. This is important because the re-sync processors required for a clean switch can add or remove video frames to the video. This means you can set a HyperDeck recorder to a direct feed without a clean switch because you don't want to insert extra frames, while a Monitor or streaming encoder router can use the clean switch to ensure seamless source changes. The clean switch locks sources on input één.
