This 50mm is made for Panasonic/Olympus Micro Four Thirds cameras. On M43, the field of view is comparable to a 100mm lens on full frame, which is ideal for portraits and tighter detail shots.
The bright f/1.2 maximum aperture helps in low light and makes it easy to create a very shallow depth of field. That gives you a softer background and strong subject emphasis.
Because it’s fully manual, you can work more deliberately and precisely. It’s also a solid choice for video when you prefer doing your own focus pulls.
The lens features a metal build and a compact design. Optically, it uses 7 elements in 5 groups and an 11-blade diaphragm for pleasing background blur.
