This 50mm is made for Fujifilm X APS-C cameras. That gives you a field of view roughly equivalent to 75mm on full frame, which is a classic portrait perspective.
With f/1.2 you can keep shooting in low light while maintaining a shallow depth of field. It’s a practical way to get a soft background without pushing ISO too far.
Because it’s fully manual, you set the pace. That’s great for deliberate photography and also for video when you want to do your own focus pulls. The minimum focusing distance is 0.7 m for tighter detail shots.
The lens features a metal build and a compact design. Inside, the optical design uses 7 elements in 5 groups, aimed at combining a sharp subject with a pleasing blur at wide apertures.
