In 1756, Johann Christoph Voigtländer founded Voigtländer in Vienna. This makes the brand one of the oldest in the camera industry, and still a very familiar name in the German history of photography. In 1840, Voigtländer produced the fastest lens of that moment and the world's first fully metal daguerreotype camera in 1841.
The Voigtländer lenses promise high-quality photography. Voigtländer offers a large selection of lenses. All lenses from the Classic collection have a fixed focal length without autofocus. They make use of the best types of glass and high-quality materials.
Lightweight and strong
Because the lenses from the Voigtländer Classic collection don't have a motor with autofocus function, the lenses are very lightweight. This allows Voigtländer to make use of the best high-quality materials, without having to concern themselves with the weight of the lenses. The materials are strong enough for everyday use and for use in all climate zones. Voigtländer lenses are ideal for all types of photography!
