Voigtländer Nokton 40mm F/1.2 Type II ASPH Leica M-mount black
.The Voigtländer Nokton 40mm F/1.2 Type II ASPH lens (Leica M-mount, black) combines modern, high-quality performance with the timeless charm of a classic lens design. Two double-sided aspherical lens elements guarantee excellent image quality – even at open aperture. The large maximum aperture of F1.2 allows for soft, smooth bokeh and offers creative possibilities in available light.
Despite its exceptional speed, the lens remains surprisingly compact: with a length ideal for working with Rangefinder cameras and weighing just 267g (without Accessories), it sits light and balanced in the hand. The short length also reduces vignetting in the viewfinder image - a great advantage when working with optical viewfinders.
The optical design consists of eight elements in six groups, including two aspherical Lenses on each side. The shortest focusing distance in rangefinder mode is 0.7m - with Live View it is even possible to focus down to 0.5m, opening up additional possibilities for detailed shots and creative perspectives.
The precision-manufactured focus unit made of solid metal, together with a high-quality lubricant, ensures velvety, sensitive focusing - perfect for demanding manual photography.
The connection is made via a VM mount, which is fully compatible with the Leica M mount. The lens not only harmonises with classic rangefinder cameras, but also strikes an excellent figure on mirrorless cameras with an adapter - both technically and optically.
For optimal protection against stray light, the optionally available metal Lens hood is recommended. It is available in a compact version (LH-14) or a longer version (LH-15). Both models can be mounted upside down to save space during transport.
Differences from version I: the total weight has been further reduced (315g to 267g) and the filter ring is now completely black (instead of silver). The optical design has not changed.
