The Sony ECM-B1M is an ultra-compact camera-mounted digital shotgun microphone designed for mobile video makers working with Sony cameras equipped with the multi-interface shoe. Released alongside the a7R IV, which takes advantage of its built-in digital audio interface, the ECM-B1M can produce its best quality by sending a digital audio stream directly to the camera through the multi-interface shoe. Other Sony cameras with the standard Multi-interface shoe can still use the microphone as there is a selectable digital/analog output.

The ECM-B1M is equipped with eight high-quality microcapsules and advanced digital signal processing, providing three selectable targeting patterns for a wide variety of recording situations. Plug and play operation makes the microphone easy to use. You can immediately start recording your YouTube videos, Facebook Live streams and interviews, at home, in the studio or on the go.
