Sony HXR-NX80 4K Camcorder

The Sony HXR-NX80 4K Camcorder offers autofocus with phase detection and HDR capabilities in a compact body. The camcorder is suitable for business events, news broadcasts and television productions. The HXR-NX80 has a 1” Exmor RS CMOS sensor with 14.2 megapixels, a 12x Zeiss optical zoom, an OLED viewfinder and a 3.5 inch touch screen LCD screen. This camcorder records 4K in XAVC S 4K, streams through 2.4/5 GHz frequencies and includes S-Log3/S-Gamut3 features for additional image control. The HXR-NX80's fast hybrid autofocus system uses high density autofocus points and a newly developed AF algorithm to provide highly accurate focus and tracking, especially handy for individual operators. In movie capture mode, use the phase detection AF frames to monitor the focus of your subject. The HXR-NX80’s 3.5-inch touch screen is used to quickly change the focus between subjects. AF Drive Speed, Tracking Depth Range and Subject Switching Sensitivity can each be configured for different subjects and content styles.

Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG) enables you to make your output future-proof by smoothly integrating your HDR workflow recordings without the need for colour classification during post-editing. Capture images with high-quality contrast and resolution by using the 12x optical Zeiss zoom of the HXR-NX80 and the 18x 4K digital zoom (24x in HD). An integrated ND filter function provides a better exposure. The HXR-NX80 camera supports Sony's Slow & Quick Motion for recording HD video at variable frame rates, including 120 fps. Material is recorded via two SD memory card slots, either simultaneously on both cards or in relay mode to back up. Additional features are built-in 2.4GHz for multiple streaming and FTP options. The HXR-NX80's audio features include two 3-pin XLR audio inputs that support line, microphone and mic + 48V (phantom power) for the use of external microphones; you can also use the built-in microphone of the HXR-NX80 to record sound during filming. The HXR-NX80 seamlessly integrates during productions with multiple cameras through Sony's MCX-500 live switcher (available separately).
