Description
Samyang 16mm T2.2 VDSLR ED AS UMC CS II Nikon F (DX)
The Samyang 16mm T2.2 VDSLR ED AS UMC CS II lens (Nikon F (DX)) is a wide-angle lens optimised for digital cinematography. The lens produces an image circle suitable for APS-C sensors or smaller. The focus and aperture rings feature industry-standard 0.8 pitch gearing for attaching a follow focus unit. The aperture ring is also de-clicked for smooth iris pulls while shooting. Markings for focus, aperture and depth of field are located on the side of the lens to support focus pullers, which typically operate on the side of the Camera.
The Samyang 16mm T2.2 VDSLR ED AS UMC CS II Cine Lens is carefully designed for professional film and video operations with APS-C sensors. Focus gearing is installed for a professional follow focus system. You can change the aperture quietly and smoothly with the decoupled aperture ring. The T-number, which indicates the actual light transmission, and distance scales are marked on both sides of the lens for highly accurate filming. The lens uses a manual aperture system with a low T-number, which ensures natural shots under different lighting conditions.
The Samyang 16mm T2.2 VDSLR ED AS UMC CS II Cine Lens consists of 13 lenses in 11 groups, including 1 hybrid aspherical lens (H-ASP), 1 glass aspherical lens (ASP) and 1 extra-low dispersion lens (ED). H-ASP and ASP lenses minimise colour reproduction for exceptional image quality and high contrast in the centre and corners of the image, even at fully open aperture. The ED lens of the 16mm T2.2 II effectively controls light diffusion to prevent flare and ghosting. Samyang Optics' Ultra Multi Coating (UMC) technology optimises light penetration to minimise flare and ghosting as well.
The frame of the Samyang 16mm T2.2 II is compact and solid thanks to its high-quality aluminium alloy, allowing reliable images to be captured even in adverse conditions. The removable, flower-shaped lens hood protects the lens from unnecessary light.
