Nikon AF-S 8-15mm F3.5-4.5E ED Fisheye
With the Nikon AF-S 8-15mm F3.5-4.5E ED Fisheye, you can create two fisheye effects with a single lens. It gives you the creativity of a fisheye with the versatility of a zoom lens. In a flash you switch from a circular fisheye at 8mm to a full-frame fisheye at 15mm. At a focal length of 8mm, you capture a complete 180° angle of view (horizontal, vertical and diagonal). Or fill the whole frame with a diagonal 180° angle of view at a focal length of 15mm. You get beautiful, high-resolution images that are sharp from corner to corner, even at the maximum aperture setting of f/3.5. Three ED (extra-low dispersion) glass elements keep colour fringing caused by lateral chromatic aberration to a minimum. Two aspherical lens elements significantly reduce coma and other types of aberrations. Thanks to Nikon's Nano Crystal Coat, ghosting and flare are virtually eliminated across the entire image, even when shooting against the light.
With this fisheye, you maintain image quality when you get close to your subject. Thanks to the minimum focusing distance of 0.16m and a magnification of 0.34x, you can photograph subjects from just about 3cm from the lens surface, without having to worry about a loss of quality at the edges.
Nikon's Silent Wave Motor (SWM) delivers very fast, very quiet autofocus with the option of direct manual focusing. The lens has a separate focus ring for manual focusing. The electromagnetic aperture mechanism ensures consistent exposure.
The build is robust, dust-resistant and drip-proof. This guarantees reliable performance in harsh weather conditions. The weather-resistant design prevents dust and water droplets from damaging the lens. Nikon's fluorine coat actively repels water, dust and dirt without compromising image quality.
Switch quickly and easily between using the lens hood to take a full-frame fisheye photo, or shooting without the lens hood when you want to capture an image with a round perspective. The lens cap attaches to the lens hood, which in turn attaches to the lens. You can attach or remove the cap and hood together, or just the lens cap.
