With the Blackmagic UltraStudio Mini Replay 12G you record and play back video simultaneously via 12G-SDI, from your Thunderbolt computer. The compact device has separate fill and key outputs for keying graphics in a switcher, plus its own monitor output. This way you use it for broadcast graphics, AI image processing and live action replay up to 2160p60.

Blackmagic UltraStudio Mini Replay 12G

With the Blackmagic UltraStudio Mini Replay 12G you record and play back video via 12G-SDI, from your Thunderbolt laptop or desktop. The compact device works bidirectionally: it captures footage and outputs footage at the same time, in SD, HD and Ultra HD up to 2160p60 in 10-bit broadcast quality.

The Replay 12G has two 12G-SDI outputs for fill and key, plus a separate 12G-SDI monitor output that is always active, so you can set up the next replay. Via the 12G-SDI input you monitor, for example, the multiview of your switcher. This makes the device suitable for broadcast graphics, live action replay and AI image processing.

Because the device records and plays back at the same time, you deploy your computer as a real-time processing engine. You capture footage from the SDI input and simultaneously send edited footage back to the SDI outputs, for example for keying graphics over a live signal. In DaVinci Resolve you use the live action replay features for this.

The multi-rate 12G-SDI connections support all SD, HD, 2K, Ultra HD and 4K standards up to 2160p60, and via a software update you add new standards later. The device works via a single Thunderbolt 4 cable that also supplies the power, and uses the DeckLink API, so it works with commonly used video software such as DaVinci Resolve. The included software comprises, among others, Media Express and Disk Speed Test.
