Sensitive private data, or personal data, is processed via our website. Photospecialist considers careful handling of personal data to be of great importance. Personal data is therefore carefully processed and secured by us.

In our processing, we adhere to the requirements of privacy legislation. This means that we:

  • Clearly specify our purposes before we process personal data, through this privacy statement.
  • Limit our collection of personal data to only the personal data necessary for established purposes.
  • Seek your explicit consent to process your personal data first in cases where your consent is required.
  • Take appropriate security measures to protect your personal data and require the same from parties processing personal data on our behalf.
  • Keep your personal data no longer than necessary for the specific purpose for which we obtained your personal data.
  • Respect your right to provide access to, correct or delete your personal data at your request.

Photospecialist is the data controller. In this privacy statement, we explain what personal data we collect and use and for what purpose at the website www.photospecialist.com. We recommend you read this carefully.

Order processing

When you place an order with us, we use your personal data to handle it properly. We may then give your personal data to our delivery service to have the order delivered to you. We also receive information about your payment from your bank or credit card company.

To do this, we use your e-mail address, phone number, billing address, name and address information, and payment details. We do this on the basis of your consent. We keep this information until your order is completed. We keep certain customer data for longer in connection with legal tax retention obligations.

If you return an item purchased online to us, we ask you to fill in the shipping label or sample withdrawal form (name, address, order number, reason for return (not compulsory)). We need this information to process your returned item(s) and, if applicable, send you a new item or refund the purchase price. 

You can also return or exchange an online item at one of our shops. Items bought in one of our shops can also be returned or exchanged in our shops.

Your account

Certain areas of our website require you to register first. You then have to provide information about yourself and choose a username. With that, we create an account, which you can log in to with that username and a password of your choosing.

To do this, we use your e-mail address, IP address, name and address information, billing address and phone number. We do this on the basis of your consent. We keep this information for six months after you cancel the account.

We keep this information so that you do not have to fill it in again and again and so that we can contact you in the context of executing the agreement. Statistics and profiling

We keep statistics on the use of our website. With these statistics, we improve our website to show only relevant information, for example. Of course, we will respect your privacy at all times in doing so.

We combine your Personal Data from different sources to provide you with the best online shopping experience. We do this by linking various data from you, such as account details, purchase history, reviews posted by you, as well as your browsing behaviour on our website on different devices, such as your computer, smartphone or tablet. It is also possible that we supplement or optimise your data with data from public sources or sources you have given permission to use. We use this data to improve our services and make them more responsive to our customers' needs, for which we have a legitimate interest.

Advertising

We would like to send you advertising about offers and new products or services. We will do this:

You can object to this advertising at any time. Each letter says what to do. Each e-mail contains an unsubscribe link. You can block us or use the unsubscribe option. You can also pass this on via your account.

Reviews help our customers find what they are looking for. If you write a review, you have the choice of whether your personal data or name are visible to other visitors. It is also possible to use an alias as an alternative. You also have the option to indicate whether we may contact you as a result of your review.

Your review will automatically indicate whether or not you bought the product from Photospecialist. So this will appear with your review. With this, we aim to ensure the transparency and reliability of reviews on our website, and our customers can better value reviews. We check that you purchased the product on our website using the order details.

We only post reviews with your permission. As reviews are valuable to customers for a long time, we keep a review until you ask us to remove the review or until the review is removed by us under the review terms and conditions.

Advertisements

Our website displays advertisements. We see if people like them, and use that information to provide only fun or interesting ads and offers in the future.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies. Cookies are small files where we can store information so you don't have to fill it in every time. But it also allows us to see that you are visiting us again.

When you visit our website for the first time, we display a message explaining cookies. If required by laws and regulations, we will ask for your consent to the use of these cookies.

You can disable the setting of cookies via your browser, but some things on our website will then no longer work properly.

We have agreements with other companies that place cookies. Still, we do not have full control over what they themselves do with the cookies. So read their privacy statements as well. (Note: these may change regularly).


We use Google Analytics to track how visitors use our website. We have entered into a processing agreement with Google. This contains strict agreements on what they are allowed to keep. We allow Google to use the Analytics information obtained for other Google services. We let Google anonymise the IP addresses.

Photospecialist takes appropriate measures to counter abuse, loss, unauthorised access, unwanted disclosure and unauthorised modification. If you have the impression that your data is not properly secured or there are indications of misuse, please contact us. Our contact details are listed below. To protect your data, we take at least the following measures:

  • Access to sensitive data (including personal data) is protected by a username and password and (if available) a second factor when the risk warrants it.
  • We take physical measures such as locks and safes to protect access to the systems in which personal data is stored.
  • We use secure (HTTPS) connections that protect all information between you and our website when you enter personal data.
  • We keep logs of all retrievals of personal data.

Minors

If you are 16 years old or younger, you may only use our website and/or services under the supervision of your parents or legal representatives. We will therefore in no case intentionally process Personal Data of persons under 16 years of age.

If you as a parent or legal representative become aware that we have nonetheless unknowingly processed your minor child's Personal Data, please contact us.

We use an identification procedure that ensures that we only modify or delete the questioner's data.
