And for photographers who do not want to miss a moment of the latest news, the light, compact SB-5000 offers clear, intuitive user controls.
This is the first Nikon Speedlight flash that offers wireless radio control, so that there does not have to be a direct line of sight between the master and the slave flash, this increases reliability when shooting in bright sunlight. And in situations where you flash in quick succession more photos can be taken consecutively without the flash to suddenly fail, thanks to the new built-in cooling system from Nikon.

Advanced Wireless Lighting with radio control
The Nikon SB-5000 is designed to cope with difficult shooting conditions and therefore completely supports the new function for radio control of the Nikon Creative Lighting. When the flash is used with the WR-R10 wireless remote control, up to 6 groups are supported by the SB-5000 flash. Optical control is also fully supported.
Speedlight with cooling
The SB-5000 is designed to remain cool, even when shooting consecutive images under pressure. This flash is fast and reliable and produces the extraordinarily high number of 120 flashes at intervals of 5 seconds or 84 flashes at intervals of 3 seconds. You can make more than 100 shots in succession while the flash fires at full strength. The cooling system suppresses the generation of heat in the flash head and prevents it from overheating.
Nikon Creative Lighting System
The focal point on the SB-5000 is occupied by Nikon's i-TTL flash control, which lets Nikon Speedlights expose key information to share with D-SLRs that are compatible with the Creative Lighting System. The SB-5000 radio can be controlled as part of a configuration with Advanced Wireless Lighting, but can also be controlled optically in the usual manner via the line of sight.
Ease of use
The clear control panel has a large and legible information screen. The rotary multi-selector and the 'i' button providing quick access to common or self-defined functions, with the 'i' button the main flash settings for shooting with one flash or Advanced Wireless Lighting are immediately displayed as a list. As with its predecessor, the flash head of the SB-5000 can be tilted down to 7 ° down and tilted up to 90 °, it can be turned 180 ° horizontally to the left and right.
