The Leica D-Lux 8 in Metal Gray Paint Finish is a compact digital camera with a fixed Leica DC Vario-Summilux 10.9-34mm f/1.7-2.8 ASPH. zoom lens, designed for photographers who want top image quality in a compact and intuitive package. The 17-megapixel Four Thirds CMOS sensor delivers images with natural colours and crisp detail in both JPEG and DNG format. The D-Lux 8 is the first model in the D-Lux series to support DNG files, providing maximum flexibility during post-processing.

The fixed zoom lens with a full-frame equivalent of 24-75mm and a maximum aperture of f/1.7 offers outstanding performance in a variety of lighting conditions. Macro mode allows focusing from as close as 3 cm at the wide-angle position, while optical image stabilisation built into the lens ensures sharp images at slower shutter speeds. The camera features an ISO range of 100 to 25,000 for photography and 100 to 6400 for video.

The body is inspired by the Leica Q series and features a redesigned button layout for intuitive operation and fast menu navigation. The fixed 3-inch touchscreen LCD with 1.84 megapixels offers 48% more resolution than its predecessor. The OLED electronic viewfinder with 2.36 megapixels and a built-in eye sensor automatically switches between the LCD and the viewfinder. The included clip-on flash enables reliable shooting in challenging lighting conditions and supports second-curtain synchronisation for creative effects.

For video, the D-Lux 8 supports recording in 4K up to 30fps and Full HD up to 60fps. Wireless connectivity via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0 enables connection to the Leica FOTOS app for file transfer, remote control, geotagging and firmware updates. The USB-C connection supports data transfer and charging. The magnesium body is lightweight and durable, weighing just 397 grams including the battery.
