Leica 11185 APO-Summicron-SL 50mm F/2 ASPH

The Leica 11185 APO-Summicron-SL 50mm F/2 ASPH is a fast prime lens designed for full-frame L-mount mirrorless cameras. The lens offers a classic standard field of view in an impressive optical design. The maximum aperture of F/2 excels in bare lighting conditions. The lens design combines weight and size for a pleasant form factor. Three aspherical elements are used to reduce spherical aberrations and distortion for high sharpness. In addition, the lens also includes an apochromatic optical design. That uses partially aberrant dispersion glass to suppress colour fringing and chromatic aberrations for high clarity and colour accuracy. The multi-layer coatings also help reduce flare and ghosting for increased contrast when working in strong lighting conditions. Complementing the optics is a Dual Syncro Drive stepper motor, which provides fast and quiet autofocus performance for both stills and video applications. In addition, an AquaDura coating has been applied to the exposed elements, and seals are incorporated into the lens design for use in harsh ambient conditions.
