The JJC JSC-8 is a hot shoe adapter for portable flash units with a female PC output and a 3.5mm mini phone jack. The adapter has a "hot" connection at the top and a shoe mount at the bottom, which you simply slide onto the hot shoe mount of your camera. The screw allows you to rotate it on your camera. Thanks to the "hot" connection on the top you can mount a flash on it.
