Description
The Ilford SFX Infra Red 200 135-36 is a special effects film that is ideal for landscape photography. With this film you shoot pictures with a surreal effect thanks to the high red sensitivity.
It is a film with extensive red spectral sensitivity up to 740-780 nm. Ilford's SFX is not a ‘real‘ infrared film like the former Efke IR820 or the Kodak HIE, but it is a film with an elaborate red sensitivity. The advantage for the user is the better usability and simpler processing. The downside is that the photos are not ‘real‘ infrared images, but photos with an infra-red effect. However, the film can be given to almost any photo lab for development and the exposure can be made with only a dark red filter. But the strongest and most visible ‘Wood effect‘ is achieved by using an infrared filter that blocks the light below 715 nm. The Ilford SFX 200 is ideal for infra-red beginners or to try out IR film in a Holga camera.
