The Hoya CineProHD Gold Mist 1/8 filter is the perfect tool for filmmakers and photographers who want to soften the hard edge of modern digital sensors. By applying subtle diffusion, your images instantly gain a warm, nostalgic and cinematic look. Because this is the light 1/8 strength, you retain plenty of detail in your shots, while still creating that sought-after analogue character.

The filter’s unique look comes from the diffusion layer evenly embedded in the glass and the deliberate omission of traditional multi-coatings. This gives highlights and bright lights a soft, dreamy bloom (also known as ‘blooming’). In addition, strong backlight produces authentic lens flares and overall contrast is slightly reduced, which is essential for that classic Hollywood look. To prevent unwanted reflections within the glass itself, the optical glass features specially finished black edges.

The filter is computer-polished for crystal-clear clarity, and the robust frame is ideal for intensive use on set. On the front, there is an 82mm thread. This makes it easy to fit a lens cap or screw on an additional filter (such as an ND filter). When stacking multiple filters, always watch out for vignetting (dark corners) when working with ultra-wide-angle lenses.
