The Tokina Opera 50mm f/1.4 FF Lens for Canon EF was designed by Tokina to enable photographers to create real works of art. The Opera 50mm f/1.4 FF is a fast prime-lens with normal length for Canon EF Mount DSLRs. With the debut of the 50 mm F1.4 FF, Tokina launches a new range of advanced next-generation full-frame lenses for high-end DSLR cameras, called "Opera" series. The new series is designed to fit perfectly with recent high-resolution full-frame DSLR cameras that require highest quality optical designs. The 50 mm F1.4 FF is the first prime lens in Tokina's new Opera series for powerful full-frame DSLR cameras. The lens incorporates Tokina's latest developments in optical engineering and electronic design to meet the demands of today's DSLR technology. With advanced features such as annular ultrasonic motors for fast and quiet operation, Tokina's new ELR lens coating technology and advanced weather sealing technology, the new 50mm f/1.4 FF Opera lens will be a go-to lens in many camera bags.

To effectively suppress chromatic aberrations and deliver sharp edge-to-edge images at all openings, the Opera 50mm f/1.4 FF includes an optical construction consisting of 3 lens elements cast from SD (Super-low Dispersion) glass and one aspheric glass element in the rear-focus lens group. The lens has a 9-bladed, round aperture for a naturally beautiful bokeh. Fast and free AF and superior optical performance at all apertures and focal points make this lens suitable for a variety of photographic genres and scenes.

The newly developed Tokina ELR (Extremely Low Reflection) coating is specifically designed to target the visible light spectrum as it enters and passes through the lens. This drastically reduces the reflection ratio compared to traditional Tokina lens coatings. This results in dramatically reduced shadows and glare when shooting in challenging lighting conditions, especially when there are strong light sources in the image. The lens takes advantage of the latest developments in dust resistance and weather seals, focusing on 8 areas in the lens construction that are most sensitive to dust and water penetration. In combination with a DSLR camera that is protected from dust and weather, the lens will not disappoint you, even in bad weather conditions. The directional rotation of the focus ring corresponds to the own direction of Nikon and Canon lenses. To ensure fast and accurate AF, the Opera 50mm f/1.4 FF is equipped with an ultra-fast annular ultrasonic motor for virtually silent operation.
