The Canon EF-S 55-250mm F4.0-5.6 IS STM is a compact, lightweight and versatile lens that offers, with an impressive focal range of 55-250mm, maximum flexibility and is therefore the perfect partner for when you want to get closer to your subject. This is the first EF-S telephoto zoom lens equipped with Canon's advanced STM technology and Optical Image Stabilizer with 3.5 stops. The 3.5-stop advantage over non-IS models, is the protection against influences of camera shake. Camera shake may occur during handheld shooting with a telephoto zoom lens as Canon 55-250mm F4.0-5.6. The optical IS counter attacks these vibrations and allows you to easily create, under all conditions, sharp, vivid and lifelike images.
The STM advanced technology ensures that the Canon EF-S 55-250mm F4-5.6 IS STM is capable of high precision autofocus during photographing. While making movies, this technology ensures, with compatible cameras, for smooth and silent AF performance. With smooth and continuous AF during tracking and filming of moving subjects, STM also provides clear and natural transitions when swopping focus from one subject to another. Thanks to the silent STM mechanism it is possible to capture the original sound accurately without distraction due to focusing of the lens.
