Metz 15 MS-1 Digital Kit
Metz 15 MS-1 Digital Macro Slave
The macro flash uses the internal camera flash as a control and it only flashes when the camera flash goes off. This can be accomplished both in Manual mode as in TTL, the power of the Metz flash is actually measured by the camera lens and the flash does not over-or underexpose. The Metz Mecablitz 15 MS-1 digital is therefore suitable for many camera brands including Sony (ADI), Nikon and Fujifilm (i-TTL), Canon (E-TTL), Olympus, Leica and Panasonic (Four Thirds), Pentax & Samsung (P-TTL).
The Metz flash comes with three adapter rings for different size lenses (52, 55 and 58mm) and a terminal that serves as an infrared filter for the pop-up flash of the camera so that the light from the flash is not participating in the composition of the photo. This ensures that the light in the picture is truly and only determined by the amount of light emitted from the Metz macro flash.
Metz likes to stress out that the flash really is a macro flash, not a ring flash. The flashlight comes from two built-in ring flash tubes and not from the entire ring around the lens.
Due to the simple way to mount this flash unit on the camera, it is possible to switch quickly between macro photography with the macro flash and normal photography without flash, or another flash unit. This ability transforms the Metz Mecablitz 15 MS-1 digital into a perfect travel companion for people who like to go out and combine macro photography, landscape photography, etc.
