Shoulder Bags page 16

Easy and simple

The simplicity of a shoulder bag makes this type of bag the ideal storage place for those times you want just a camera with you on the go, with perhaps a lens and a few accessories. This makes a shoulder bag ideal for a day trip, when you're confident which lens type you'll be needing. The bags are designed in such a way as to mould around the shape of, say, a mirrorless or DSLR camera, meaning there's an appropriate shoulder bag for every camera type. In addition, the bag often has several compartments for smaller accessories, such as memory cards, batteries, gorrillapods and cables. Their popularity also lies in the ease with which they can be worn, via an adjustable strap, around the shoulder or around the neck. So with a shoulder bag you enjoy fast access to your camera when a photo opportunity presents itself.

Protection and design

The protective function of a shoulder bag is down to the material it's made of. From padded lining to special shoulder pads, the ease and protection shoulder bags have to offer go hand in glove. Knocks, scratches and rain are no problem at all when you carry a shoulder bag. Design plays an important role too, due to the finish of a shoulder bag. Many shoulder bags combine colours and materials that harmonise really well, so producing a complete look&feel. Take for example a leather exterior, striking belts and beautifully finished carry straps. ONA and Billingham are just two brand examples where design and ease of use are clearly evident.
