Artificial light pollution can reduce starlight definition by up to 50%. The orange cast reduces the contrast between the stars and the space behind them, making the otherwise black background of the space appear orangish. Eliminating light pollution is essential for capturing beautiful night sky images, but finding a location to shoot with no light pollution can be incredibly difficult if not impossible depending on where you are shooting.
