4K camera

One 4K camera is a camera that films in an aspect ratio of 4 times Full HD. One 4K image is actually equal to 4096x2160 pixels. Uncompressed, this amounts to approximately 8 GB per second (including audio of a very high level). One advantage of filming in this format is that you can watch a much bigger screen, without sacrificing image quality. Thus, the viewing angle is much larger. Images shot with 4K cameras give you the ultimate in film and viewing experience.

Sharper images

More and more cameras have 4K resolution. A 4K camera is therefore not only for the professional photographer. Many entry models and action cams nowadays have this high resolution as well. This way everyone can enjoy sharper images. This sharper image is caused by the increased pixel density. The viewer experiences this as a sharper image. Also, noise in 4K images is a lot less disturbing. At 4K, the pixels are a lot smaller, which makes the noise smaller and less noticeable. To get the most out of your 4K footage, it is a condition that the medium on which the images are displayed supports 4K.

4K Photos

4K is especially associated with videos, but some cameras feature a 4K photo mode. Think of the Panasonic Lumix series. The 4K mode allows you to choose the best photo from a series of photos shot quickly after each other. Basically the same idea as when you take photos in burst mode.
